Summer Update

Well, I know it's been a long time since I last posted. However, it has been a busy summer. We have spent several long weekends camping in Denali National Park. We also spent a week in Anchorage and Seward. We have spent several days picking blueberries and raspberries. Overall, it has been a crazy, fun summer!

Summers in Alaska can be very unpredictable. May started off hot and dry. However, June was a different story. Moisture poured into our area. It rained almost every day. The temperatures averaged in the upper 50's and lower 60's. July was pretty much a replication of June. However, on this first day of August, we have a temperature of 84 degrees and abundant sunshine. The NWS believes that this trend will continue for a few days and then it will turn cooler and wetter.

I hope to be much better with posts with school starting. My schedule should settle down and give me more time. Thanks for being patient and your interest in Alaska weather.
